Medical Marijuana Program

Effective April 18, 2017, North Dakota Century Code (NDCC) Chapter 19-24.1 required the Department of Health to establish and implement a medical marijuana program to allow for production and processing, the sale and dispensing of usable marijuana, and medical use of marijuana. The Department of Health's Division of Medical Marijuana is responsible for establishing and implementing the medical marijuana program in North Dakota.

The proposed administrative rules have been reviewed by the Office of the Attorney General and are approved as to their legality. All required information has been submitted to the Legislative Council. These proposed rules are to receive a legislative review on March 12, 2018 at the Legislative Rules Committee meeting. Following the legislative review, the earliest effective date for the rules would be April 1, 2018.
