Smiles for Life is an online oral health training
curriculum. Health-care providers may take advantage of this training to
develop knowledge about a variety of oral health care issues. This
curriculum is designed to enhance the role of primary care clinicians in
the promotion of oral health for all age groups through the development
and dissemination of high-quality educational resources.
Smiles for Life is the nation's only comprehensive oral health
curriculum, was developed by the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine
Group on Oral Health and is now in its third edition. Smiles for Life
online training includes eight courses: The Relationship of Oral to
Systemic Health; Child Oral Health; Adult Oral Health; Acute Dental
Problems; Oral Health and the Pregnant Patient; Caries Risk Assessment,
Fluoride Varnish and Counseling; The Oral Examination; and Geriatric
Oral Health.
