North Dakota currently has 50 certified
hospitals. Critical Access Hospitals account for 33 of the hospitals.
There are 12 General Acute Hospitals, 3 Psychiatric Hospitals and 2
Indian Health Services Hospitals. In addition to certification, North
Dakota also licenses hospitals as Primary Care or General Acute. North
Dakota has 29 hospitals licensed as General Acute, 18 licensed as
Primary Care and 4 licensed as specialized hospitals.
