Stop the Spread of Salmonella Due to an increase of Salmonella cases associated with handling baby chickens reported in 2007, the North Dakota Department of Health in collaboration with the State Board of Animal Health are working together to provide educational materials to farm supply stores and animal feed stores about health requirements on interstate movement of animals and information about preventing the spread of Salmonella. These educational materials also will be available to the public who purchase chicks and feed at these venues and more.
