Smallpox Media Seminar December 5, 2002 (Recorded) North Dakota Department of Health North Dakota Heritage Center Bismarck, N.D. |
This smallpox seminar is designed to provide members of the North Dakota media with information about smallpox – such as vaccination, epidemiological investigation, the role of public health, communication issues, etc.
This is not a news conference, although participants are encouraged to ask questions of the panel.
The probability of an intentional release of the smallpox virus is low, but since the consequences of an outbreak would be great, we must be prepared. Providing background information to the media is part of that preparation.
