To access the reports, click on the Publications link in the column on the left side of this page. Heres a description of what you will find under the WIC publications:
WIC: A public health program that works, 2002 report. This report presents an overview of the ND WIC Program, who it provides benefits to, services provided and presents charts on number of health and nutrition indicators collected from the CDC surveillance systems.
The 2011 Pediatric Nutrition Surveillance System (PedNSS ) report includes information on North Dakota WIC children from birth to age 5 years by state, county or region*. North Dakota data is presented with national averages. Data components include racial/ethnic status, age, birth weight, height, weight, anemia, breastfeeding (initiated, at 6 months, and at 12 months).
The 2011 Pregnancy Nutrition Surveillance System (PNSS ) report includes information on North Dakota WIC pregnant and delivered women by state, county or region*. North Dakota data is presented with national averages. Data components include racial/ethnic status, age, prepregnancy BMI, pregnancy weight gain, anemia, medical care (initiated in 1st trimester), WIC enrollment began, smoking (prior to pregnancy, 1st prenatal visit, quit by 1st prenatal visit), smoking in household (pregnancy and postpartum), birth weight (preterm, full term) and infant ever breastfed.
Data set also includes tables with 2002-2011 information on all of the components mentioned above.
