Who Should Attend: Participation in this free one-day training is open to  all state, county, local, and tribal public health workers and volunteers who have been or are expected to be part of a disaster response. The training is designed for individuals who may not have previous experience with behavioral health topics.
8:30 a.m.-Registration
9:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Training
 
Lunch will be provided for preregistered participants only
Session topics include:
The mental/behavioral health impact of a disaster,
Psychological first aid
Integrating behavioral health into local systems of response and recovery (defining roles)
All hazards planning for mental/behavioral health response needs (shelters, PODs, flu clinics, outreach, assistance centers, etc.)
The importance of self-care
