Reporting Requirements Viral hepatitis is a mandatory reportable condition in North Dakota (North Dakota Administrative Code 33-06-01, North Dakota Century Code 23-07-01). This means that health care providers are required by law to report all viral hepatitis cases (i.e., all positive viral hepatitis markers) to the North Dakota Department of Health. Who can report? Physicians and other health care providers who make a diagnosis of viral hepatitis, hospitals, health care facilities, and medical diagnostic laboratories who identify a viral hepatitis positive sample. Examples include, but are not limited to: physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, medical examiners, medical technologists, laboratory technicians and infection control personnel. How can you report? By doing one of the following:
What about follow-up reports?
